1. Great professors and a nice campus. You will definitely get more out of your experience if you live on campus or somewhere near campus. Parking used to be an issue for commuters, however, new garages have helped alleviate that. Used to be a "commuter school" but that has changed a lot over the last 20 years. If you want to study engineering, nursing, or criminal justice in the DFW area, this university provides a good value.
2.UT Arlington is an above-average public university located in Arlington, Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. It is a large institution with an enrollment of 17,819 undergraduate students. Admissions is somewhat competitive as the UT Arlington acceptance rate is 71%. Popular majors include Nursing, Liberal Arts and Humanities, and Biology. Graduating 50% of students, UT Arlington alumni go on to earn a starting salary of $38,300.
3. UTA is a great school with a unique atmosphere. Unlike most campuses, UTA is a primarily commuter campus with many students living off campus. This, for me, gave it an atmosphere of immediacy. When a group activity was necessary most people did not waste time in accomplishing their goals. My specific program was university studies, it was necessary for me to earn this degree as I was in a hurry to graduate and I had a lot of random credits from my community college days. The staff at the Universit College were great and I developed great relationships with those people that I still enjoy today. The benefit of the degree itself was great, while I do not major in any one subject I was able to gain valuable insight into three different areas of study which made my eventual graduate studies much more manageable.
