The master's (MS) in physiology is a one-year program designed to help college graduates strengthen their academic credentials in preparation for application to U.S. medical schools. The cornerstone of our program is to provide our students with a significant side-by-side experience with first year medical students (M1) at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.Our master's program is approximately 11 months in duration (it begins in mid-August and ends in mid-June). Participants can only enroll in the program as full-time students

The Master of Arts in Psychology program includes:

  • A combination of formal coursework with opportunities for “real world,” applied work as part of the Capstone project, thesis-related research, and other experiences
  • 5 required courses in psychology and research
  • Multiple options for electives that allow you to customize the program
  • Guided opportunities for professional development and internship support through partnership with Division of Experiential Learning and Community Engagement
  • The Master’s Thesis option for the Capstone allows you to design and execute independent research

Admission Requirements

You will need the following items to complete the online application process:

  1. A personal statement that describes why you want to pursue the MAP degree and anything else that you wish to call to the attention of the MAP Program Admission Committee;
  2. Two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals who know you professionally or academically.  At least one letter should be written by a faculty member who can speak to your academic qualifications and readiness for graduate work.
  3. Transcripts of all current (and previous) college or university grades. Note: for the application, you may upload unofficial transcripts; however, if admitted to the MAP program you will be asked to submit official transcripts to the program office.
  4. Your current resume or CV.
