The University of Cincinnati’s Master of Arts in Human Resources degree program is offered full- and part-time to provide a flexible schedule for graduate students. As human capital is increasingly recognized as a competitive advantage, leading firms are focusing more on talent acquisition and development, leadership training, and culture shaping.
Students can complete this program in as few as nine months or two semesters. The Lindner College of Business also offers assistance for students looking for job placement after graduation. The program's advisory board consists of HR professionals who work or have worked at high-profile organizations such as Macy’s, Procter & Gamble, and First Financial Bank.
Human Resources Curriculum
The human resources professionals of tomorrow need to be able to effectively communicate with their colleagues in functional areas such as finance, marketing, and accounting in order to best understand their clients’ needs and translate them into action. As a result, our program includes both human resources and business administration courses.
You will study a broad range of subjects within our diverse management curriculum. Courses in compensation, benefits, negotiation, employment law, HR analytics, and more are taught by a mix of full-time faculty from the Lindner College of Business and experienced professionals from organizations in the region. Our elective courses range from leadership and management to innovation and training.
Careers
Our most successful graduates come with focused interest in the Human Resources function, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a deep interest in people. The ability to use data to address HR issues is also emerging as critical to success in HR.
Students from the Lindner MAHR program have positions with titles such as HR Director, HR Manager, HR Generalist, Director of Talent Acquisition, Benefits Director, and Compensation Manager. The Lindner Career Services office is available to assist MAHR students with placement upon graduation.
