The Graduate Program in Philosophy offers rigorous training for MA students in preparation for admission to PhD programs and supports PhD students in developing a professional research profile Our program specializes in a number of research areas including i ethics political philosophy and philosophy of law ii philosophy of cognitive science mind and language iii history of 19th and 20th century philosophy and iv philosophy of science and epistemology Our program teaches both traditional and interdisciplinary methods including empirical conceptual and applied approaches Faculty in the graduate program also engage in ongoing discourse with researchers in other disciplines including law psychology neuroscience and healthcare Students may complement their training with graduate diplomas including the Diploma in Value Theory and Applied Ethics and the Neuroscience Graduate Diploma
